Lighter, Thinner Acetate Frames Mark 141 Eyewear’s Spring Entry

Philanthropic fashion eyewear maker 141 Eyewear's four new 2012 styles include the Alberta in Blue Smoke.

"These new designs push the envelope a bit while keeping one foot grounded in the classic designs with which we began. Fans of 141 Eyewear can look forward to interesting new choices that expand and evolve right along with our giving efforts."

141 Eyewear, a philanthropic fashion eyewear designer that donates a pair of frames for every pair sold, today announced the release of its 2012 spring eyewear line. The line debuted at Vision Expo West in Las Vegas in September, 2011, and will be available exclusively via boutique optical outlets.

The new line features four new styles, each available in four colors: the Alberta in Blue Smoke, Green Tortoise, Olive and Noir/Marble; the Quimby in Black & Tan, Noir, Matte Olive, and Mahogany; the Flanders in Green Tortoise, Noir/Marble, Matte Olive and Mahogany; and the Belmont in Noir, Black & Tan, Green Tortoise and Mahogany. The style names are inspired by the Portland streets where husband-and-wife co-founders Kyle Yamaguchi and Shu-Chu Wu first met and fell in love.

The 2012 line features more thinner, lighter acetate frames than the initial launch collection. The designs build on the launch collection’s classically inspired designs while adding modern twists and colors.

“When we started just under two years ago, our goal was to give the fashion eyewear consumer a choice that was as aesthetically smart as it was socially conscious,” said 141 Eyewear co-founder Kyle Yamaguchi. “These new designs push the envelope a bit while keeping one foot grounded in the classic designs with which we began. Fans of 141 Eyewear can look forward to interesting new choices that expand and evolve right along with our giving efforts.”
