International House Cape Town launches Volunteering Opportunities

IH Cape Town is pleased to announce customized Language programmes including new Volunteering opportunities with a diverse range of projects to choose from.

IH Cape Town is pleased to announce a closer partnership with you2africa ( and as a result is excited to be offering both Language courses as well as new Volunteering programmes with a diverse range of projects to choose from.

“More and more people want to travel and yet at the same time make a real difference and a positive contribution when visiting a wonderful country like South Africa. It’s about making travel meaningful which makes the partnership with you2africa an obvious choice," said Mr Thompson, Director of IH Cape Town.

“English plus courses work really well as students can study English as well as combine their studies with a programme such as a volunteer project,” he added.

IH Cape Town offers international students the opportunity to combine English language study with touristic programmes, such as surfing, safari’s and volunteer programmes. Volunteer programmes in particular include projects in conservation, community work, education, childcare, wildlife projects and many more.

Gavin Eyre, Managing Director of IH Cape Town, stated that, “structured volunteer programmes are rewarding and fun and working holidays are popular with the youth traveller of today.” Mr Eyre goes on to add, “Famous Philanthropists such as Bill Gates, Bono, Warren Buffet, highlight the importance of aid and volunteering and for students it’s a real life experience and one of personal growth, one they will never forget. It is also now going into the festive holiday season that volunteers are really needed to help those less fortunate."
