The Electric Circus was a hip night club spot in New York's Greenwich Village. Even though the show was canceled, a concert poster was still made. This makes the poster rare and unique.

Andrew Hawley, from Vintage Rock Posters, is a dedicated collector of 1950's and 1960's vintage concert posters. Hawley is searching for vintage 1967-70 Jim Morrison and the Doors concert posters. Hawley is particularly interested in finding posters for the Electric Circus Doors concert in New York City on August 8,1969. According to Hawley, “What makes The Electric Circus poster so interesting is the show actually never happened. The concert was cancelled due to Jim Morrison's rowdy performance in Miami five months earlier. The Miami concert was the first Doors show of the 1969 tour and it was the beginning of the end of Jim Morrison’s short, brilliant, but destructive career. The Miami performance was a disaster with Morrison being arrested for apparently exposing himself along with a myriad of other charges. This negative exposure caused a domino affect of cancellations as one city after another nixed The Doors performances.“

Hawley adds, “The Electric Circus was a hip night club spot in New York's Greenwich Village. Even though the show was canceled, a concert poster was still made. This makes the poster rare and unique. The poster was silk-screened on heavy paper and features a striking image of Morrison in blue against a bright orange background. This poster is unique because its does not list ticket prices or where to buy tickets. Electric Circus was small so concert goers just bought their tickets at the box office. The Electric Circus would have been a wonderful opportunity to see one of the leading acts of the 1960s in a small venue. To bad it was canceled.”

Hawley is on the hunt for this poster or any other vintage 1967-70 Jim Morrison and the Doors concert posters. He is willing to pay $3,000 cash for each poster....any condition would be accepted!
