MailChimp Announces Visual Application for Creating Email Campaign Sequences

Share Article

MailChimp subscribers can drag and drop campaigns in a visual mapping tool to set the interaction of multiple campaigns. Easily send followup campaigns based on anyone who clicked on the lead campaign.

MailChimp today announced the release of ChimpMap, a new service where subscribers easily create email campaign sequences. These chained campaigns let MailChimp subscribers automate the email marketing process and easily test the workflow. Actions, like opens and clicks, dictate which email on the campaign map readers will receive next. ChimpMap lets users plan sequences like these before hand, turning multi-sequence campaigns into a "fire and forget" operations. Its interface is simple to use, and lays out this seemingly tricky process in a clean, attractive way.

Chimpmap is perfect for advanced email marketers looking for more control over their campaign workflow than offered by MailChimp’s Autoresponder. With ChimpMap it is easy to readjust the designed workflow simply by dragging and dropping the sequence of email campaigns in the visual dashboard.

When a MailChimp subscriber needs to promote an upcoming event they can first set up a map of their corresponding email marketing campaign within ChimpMap. The event planner can select existing campaigns in the ChimpMap interface, or add new ones. They then pick which campaigns to include, and link them with contingent actions. Once it's mapped out, the initial campaign can be launched.

As planned, two days later ChimpMap will get MailChimp to send out a follow up email for those who click on the RSVP link letting them know what the items at the silent auction will be so attendees will know to bring their checkbooks. That same day ChimpMap will also trigger an email to those who didn't click on the RSVP links in the initial email to remind them to register soon or there will be no more openings. The day of the event, all RSVP-link-clickers will receive a reminder email with any event particulars (parking can get tricky for these things). And then two days after the event, ChimpMap will get out a "Thank You" to everyone who RSVP-ed.

ChimpMap is currently a free service.
