Energy savings and home automation complement each other in the Smith Monitoring home automation package.
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) November 30, 2011
As a responsible company and caretaker of the environment, Smith Monitoring is eager to announce the release of their new light module to Smart Home customers. With its Z-wave technology, the light module connects to the central Go!Control panel, giving the customer the power to turn off their lights while away or turn them on while driving home. Energy savings and home automation complement each other in the Smith Monitoring home automation package.
Both lights and appliances can be controlled by the modules. Simply plug the module into an outlet, and then plug an appliance or light fixture into the appliance. Through a simple process, the modules connect wirelessly to the Go!Control panel, which is the centerpiece of Smith’s Smart Home package. After connection, each module acts as its own signal repeater, which means that no module will ever have poor connection to, or be out of range of, the central panel. With the established wireless network, the user has access to the modules from anywhere in the world, via any web-enabled computer or smartphone device.
Make the house appear occupied by turning on the lights from anywhere, or turn them off from work if forgotten. Plug the coffeemaker into the appliance outlet and set up a schedule with the central panel to make sure that there’s a fresh pot of coffee every weekday morning. With the inbuilt dimmer switch, the module replaces other dimmer switches while adding remote on/off functionality.
The energy savings from adding the modules is dependent on the customer, but any potential savings is just an added benefit to their advanced functionality and their already energy-efficient design. Ideally, the light modules will be used in tandem with the Smart Thermostat, in order to maximize energy efficiency and money savings. By itself, however, each module can act effectively in a variety of different situations. The control afforded the user gives them immediate control over their lights and appliances, extra security, and energy savings. Home automation is just a phone call away.
