Favorite Christmas tunes will fill the air December 2 and 3 as five renowned pianists and a celebrated vocalist take the stage of The Blue Gate Theater in Shipshewana.

Favorite Christmas tunes will fill the air December 2 and 3 as five renowned pianists and a celebrated vocalist take the stage of The Blue Gate Theater in Shipshewana for the annual Christmas Piano Extravaganza.

Piano phenomenon Kim Collingsworth will lead the all-star cast of some of the best Southern Gospel-style pianists in the country, including Stan Whitmire, Tim Parton and the Hayes Sisters. They will be joined by vocalist TaRanda Greene, a Gaither Homecoming performer and a favorite guest of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.

Collingsworth has been hailed as the best pianist in her musical genre with numerous awards. Dove Award-winning pianist Whitmire brings to each performance a rich musical heritage spanning several generations and covering a variety of musical styles. Parton is a self-taught piano player gifted with the ability to play the piano by ear. He was the pianist for Legacy Five for 5 years. Janet Hayes-Haas, pianist and composer for the Hayes Family, is joined by her sister, Sharon Hayes-Hodges, who is both a vocalist and well-known pianist.

TaRanda Greene is often seen on the popular Bill Gaither Homecoming Video Series and has appeared on the Homecoming Tour. She has also become a favorite guest vocalist at the famed Brooklyn Tabernacle in Brooklyn, NY and was invited by the Church to be a special featured soloist on the latest two Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir recordings Declare Your Name and A Brooklyn Tabernacle Christmas. She also appeared before the United Nations for a special Christmas concert, where she thrilled representatives from around the world with her rousing rendition of O Holy Night.

With five grand pianos gracing the stage, the event promises a memorable evening of holiday music, including specially written arrangements just for this weekend. Stirring solo pieces will weave together, featuring all five pianists to create a one-of-a-kind musical Christmas service.
