Maritz Research Launches Mobile App for Statistical Analysis

Upgraded Maritz Stats allows users to access the app while on the go

Maritz Research is launching today an updated version of its free statistical software, Maritz Stats. The updated version, Maritz Stats 3.0, allows users to run statistical tests such as Z-, T- and Chi-square tests, as well as precision and other analysis staples from any web-enabled device.

The previous version, Maritz Stats 2.1, required users to download the Windows-based software onto their computer; but with Maritz Stats 3.0, users will have the option of downloading the application or accessing it from any internet-ready device via the cloud.

“Moving Maritz Stats to the cloud provides users with greater flexibility and security,” said Joe Ziegler, senior vice president, research technology, Maritz Research. “Maritz Stats 3.0 allows users to run statistical tests on the go in a web browser, using a mobile phone, laptop or tablet. The updated version gives users the unique functionality of Maritz Stats in a convenient and secure manner.”

In addition the common statistical tests found in a full statistics program, Maritz Stats 3.0 offers unique applications like statistical power analysis, and T- and Z-tests that can run with partially overlapping samples. Users have access to the following tests and functions, all of which are presented in a user-friendly, intuitive package:

  •     T-Test – Compare two mean (average) scores
  •     Z-Test – Compare two percentages
  •     Precision – Compute sample size needed for given confidence intervals
  •     Paired Comparisons Test – A Z-Test for preference analysis
  •     McNemar Test – Compare nominal, dichotomous proportions
  •     Power – Calculate sample size needed for statistical testing
  •     Chi-Square Test – Determine whether sample data differ significantly from those expected
