Ms. Rule will also co-chair the firm’s Communications Taxes and Fees Practice with a concentration in state and local taxation of VoIP and other Cloud-based communications services.

In the midst of juggling complex litigation, Ms. Rule also played an integral role assisting a Fortune 100 client’s entrance into the Cloud Communications services industry with regard to compliance with federal, state and local taxes on VoIP services. Ms. Rule is a graduate with honors from Texas A&M University, and she earned her Juris Doctorate from Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1999. In private practice for over thirteen years, Ms. Rule has worked at the Washington, D.C. firms of Spiegel McDiarmid LLP and Troutman Sanders LLP and has represented clients in a wide variety of communications regulatory and litigation matters. Ms. Rule joined The CommLaw Group in 2008. Since joining the firm, she has utilized her communications regulatory expertise to advise clients as to the tax and regulatory obligations imposed on both traditional and developing communications services. Ms. Rule counsels clients in a variety of transactional, land use, regulatory and litigation matters.
