The author hopes to transport readers into a unique world and reveal not only some of the suffering of Africans but also some of the rich culture and the joyful moments that are shared with family and friends, hence the oxymoronic title.
Memphis, Tennessee (PRWEB) December 10, 2011
Local medical student Sheg Aranmolate is releasing a new novel, Bountiful Famine, which is set in the African savannah and will be published in December through Inspivia Books. It is his second book and first novel. Bountiful Famine is an inspiring story about a young boy named Nadus and it takes the readers on a raw and exciting journey that can be considered a psychological thriller.
The story begins by introducing the reader to this boy who awakes in the dark bound, injured, afflicted with amnesia and appears to be buried alive in a wooden container. The reader is then taken through memories of his pastoral African childhood as part of a subsistence farming family, all of which are woven into an ostensibly ordinary day in the life of Nadus. His life, despite being physically demanding and full of hard lessons, is also rich with adventure, culture and fascinating stories that are familiar because of the universality of human interactions in a part of the world exotic to most Western readers. However, on a seemingly regular morning for Nadus, his routine takes a sudden and dramatic turn and ultimately reveals a deep connection to another boy his age that transcends both real and invisible boundaries.
Bountiful Famine promises to inspire, astonish, inform and captivate readers by exploring a region of the world and lifestyles largely unexplored in the realm of fiction. Sheg carefully yet creatively infuses throughout the book the themes and missions of some of his favorite charities to which some of the sales proceeds will be donated. These include the Global Fund, an international non-profit organization that strives to eliminate AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in the world, and a Charity Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. Sheg’s wish is that Bountiful Famine will not only bring a fresh take on fiction, but also incite joy and ignite inspiration in readers across the world. He hopes “to transport readers into a unique world and reveal not only some of the suffering of Africans but also some of the rich culture and the joyful moments that are shared with family and friends, hence the oxymoronic title.”
Sheg states that he “especially wants to demonstrate that certain qualities in life like love, happiness, pain, suffering and the feelings of dejection are common to every race and color of peoples, regardless of our positions in life. Losing a loved one to diseases like cancer, financial difficulties, pain of a lost dream, depression and many more are real issues that affect every one of us in different forms.” Although Bountiful Famine is inspired by actual events in Africa’s past and present, a reader from any background will still gain insight from what lies before them in this emotionally gripping journey that will leave them longing for more.
