Alepo’s proven OMA DM Server has been integral in that it has allowed Digicel to efficiently manage our customers’ devices.
Austin, TX (PRWEB) December 01, 2011
Alepo announced today that Digicel, the best value mobile operator across the Caribbean, Central America and Pacific, has implemented Alepo’s OMA DM Server for comprehensive device management on its 4G Broadband networks in both Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. The carrier-grade system has already proven successful, allowing Digicel to remotely manage customer devices on its nationwide network.
Built on Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) DM 1.2 and collaborative WiMAX Forum standards, Alepo’s OMA DM Server eases and automates end-to-end mobile device management by enabling Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware updates, provisioning, monitoring, security, and more.
“We are constantly looking to ensure that the service we deliver to our valued customers is second to none,” stated James McElvanna, Director of 4G Broadband for Digicel Jamaica. “Alepo’s proven OMA DM Server has been integral in that as it has allowed Digicel to efficiently manage our customers’ devices.”
Alepo OMA DM Server automates firmware updates for hands-off delivery of new services, security updates and critical fixes to bugs that may interfere with network operations. From the administrative interface, system operators can easily add new firmware, schedule update campaigns, point to external download locations and view update status. The system includes failure reporting and retry management.
“As mobile devices and technologies evolve, firmware updates and configuration changes are becoming ever more common, and service providers must plan accordingly to avoid potential network or device impingements,” said Jonathan Garini, Vice President of Products at Alepo, adding, “Alepo’s OMA DM Server achieves a highly efficient, hands-off solution by delivering firmware updates over the air.”
