Development of multi-platform compatible software tools lays foundation for ConX Chassis Based Modular® Structural Steel System to penetrate the digital Building Information Modeling (BIM) world

ConXtech is pleased to announce a new member of its executive team, Chris Keyack. Mr. Keyack is Vice President responsible for ConXCAD development and deployment. He’s responsible for further development and commercialization of ConXtech’s software tools as well as integration ensuring compatibility of ConXCAD with other leading BIM and structural analysis software products. Mr. Keyack joins ConXtech from Tekla Corporation, the creators of the BIM software Tekla Structures where he most recently served as steel product manager and software solutions team manager for North America. In addition to his role at Tekla, Mr. Keyack has a steel industry background, previously working for a large fabricator with plants nationwide as a lead detailer and project manager.

Mr. Keyack is innovative and well known in the design and construction industry for his technical expertise, hands on approach, and willingness to share his depth of knowledge through a growing series of self produced YouTube videos. “Chris was the obvious choice for this key role at ConXtech,” states Robert J. ConXCAD is a customized toolkit of software add-ons for industry standard BIM (Building Information Modeling) software applications making it easier for design and construction professionals to integrate ConXtech’s structural steel connection technologies into their projects. Further development and deployment of this simple software toolkit will empower design professionals to rapidly and accurately configure ConX™ structures with a pre-defined digital library of ConX components and other standard structural elements such as beams and columns. Design professionals can establish an anatomically and dimensionally accurate structural “chassis” model at the earliest conceptual design stage. That model will continue to serve as the center of collaborative design and real-time cost analysis and will ultimately feed data to CNC manufacturing and fabrication equipment.

By expanding functionality of ConXCAD and putting simple cross-platform compatible software tools, which include a library of standard ConX components, in the hands of design professionals, the industry can more rapidly migrate to 3D Building Information Modeling where collaboration among all stakeholders in a project can be achieved from the earliest concept forward.
