The IBAA held their annual conference in which the president of Advantage Indoor advertising joined the Board of Directors.

Chuck Nelms, president of Strategic Media, Inc. and Advantage Indoor Advertising of Tampa Bay Clearwater, FL was elected to the Board of Directors of the IBAA, the Indoor Billboard Advertising Association. The IBAA held its annual conference in Las Vegas this year and the conference was attended by indoor billboard advertising companies from all over the US and Canada.

Chuck Nelms is the Association's departing Vice President and has in the past served as the Association's President. Mr. Nelms is also one of the founding members of the IBAA. The conference was well attended. Presenters included Leif of the Ad Council and Kent of Anvil media and Ron Speecchley of srds. A major focus and topic of discussion throughout the conference was the integration of emerging advertising media and technology that enhance the experience of the consumer and allow advertising clients to effectively utilize new advertising technology and approaches through indoor advertising. The indoor advertising industry continues to be one of the strongest non-traditional advertising medium and is a perfect fit for technologies such as QR codes and the newer NFC technology to effectively connect indoor advertising media and their audience.

One of the concepts Chuck Nelms spoke to the group about was the use of online coupons using free printable coupons available online by way of a coupon website. Mr. Nelms discussed one of his companies online coupon projects, Coupon Chuck was discussed in the context of a value addition for existing indoor clients and as a potential advertising media for new customers.

Mr. Nelms was quoted as saying, “It is an honor to be able to continue to serve the indoor advertising industry in this way as a member of the Board of Directors. Our advertising media has always been innovative through its non-traditional approach. The indoor media continues to adapt rapidly to the new emerging advertising technologies and integrate them into creating a positive experience for the consumer and advertiser alike.”

Chuck Nelms went on to say, “Strategic Media, the parent company of Advantage Indoor, is constantly identifying and developing new advertising approaches for our clients in areas such as Web design, SEO search engine optimization, online coupons, QR codes and social media just to name a few. We are usually able to use these approaches to improve results for our indoor clients. As a company and an industry we must be on constant alert to identify the best of these emerging advertising trends and be able to separate them from the advertising fads that simply will not last and may not work.”
