The brainchild of professional graphic designer Thena Cartwright, Catapult is the result of one woman’s commitment to spreading her passion for art. “I’d been thinking about the concept of an online magazine for two years, before I finally made the leap. I’m so grateful that the art community has embraced the magazine and its purpose, and enabled it to grow.”
Operating under the credo “Let us not outshine one another, but let us shine brighter together,” the magazine has showcased such regarded talents as Lee Harvey Roswell, Carrie Ann Baade, Daniel Pol, Patrick Deignan, Brett Amory, Cuyler Smith, Scott Holloway, Kristin Forbes-Mullane, Eric Joyner, Kaspian Shore, Jay Shultz and many others.
Catapult is the electronic equivalent of a monthly art bazaar, where artists, art patrons and gallery owners connect.
With Catapult, Cartwright hopes to inspire talented individuals who might otherwise be discouraged by their lack of exposure. By showcasing artists, she helps them gain an immediate audience for their works of self expression.
The magazine is also proving to be fertile grounds for gallery owners and collectors, who are always searching for new and exciting talent.
Cartwright has made good use of social media to promote the magazine, which has seen a steady increase in issue views in each successive month. She is also compiling a list that will serve as the foundation for an ongoing email campaign to drive viewers to her site, as well as printing postcards for a promotional mass mailing.
Inclusion in Catapult is free of charge to artists and there are also advertising opportunities for galleries, other art-related businesses and to those who just appreciate art. To find out more, email Ms. Cartwright at catapultartmag(at)gmail(dot)com or visit http://www.catapult-mag.com
