Each year, it’s an honor to plan, shop, wrap and deliver gifts to the girls.
Beaumont, TX (PRWEB) December 23, 2011
A group of “angels” made Christmas a little merrier for a special group of girls in Beaumont. On Dec. 22, Acadian Ambulance Service partnered with the Golden Triangle Republican Women’s Group, the Beaumont Fire Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and, of course, Santa to visit Girls’ Haven, a safe home for girls in need.
Ranging in ages 9 to 19, the girls were surprised by the sound of sirens as the ambulance entered the parking lot carrying Christmas gifts. After the gifts were unwrapped, the girls took photos with Santa.
“You just have to enter the doors of Girls’ Haven once and these girls will forever have a lock on your heart,” said Kate Carroll, Acadian’s Texas director of governmental affairs. “Each year, it’s an honor to plan, shop, wrap and deliver gifts to the girls.
“There is a song, ‘Where are you, Christmas?’ that keeps us going strong each year. We want to make sure these girls will never have to ask that question,” said Carroll.
Megan Arabie, paramedic field supervisor with Acadian, said, “Helping with Girl's Haven overwhelmed my heart and reminded me how blessed I am. Helping provide for Girl's Haven was an honor and a new tradition I will continue to carry with me for all the holidays to come.”
Acadian would like to thank the Golden Triangle Republican Women, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Beaumont Fire Department and all of the financial supporters for making this a memorable Christmas for the young women of Girls’ Haven.
