Treato, the social media search company that analyzes health-related discussions across the Internet, today announced that it has analyzed more than one billion posts – just two months after being officially launched.
“Achieving this important milestone so quickly means that Treato now indexes virtually every single medical topic that has ever been discussed online,” said Gideon Mantel, CEO of First Life Research, the company that developed Treato over the last four years. “At treato.com, we have built a brand new data source that helps patients draw meaningful conclusions based on the experiences of others.”
Treato analyzes patient discussions about drugs and medical conditions on blogs and forums, aggregating them into a single, clear and highly accessible knowledge base. Using deep expertise in human psychology, medical terminology and Natural Language Processing, Treato uses proprietary technology to get the big picture of what patients are saying in their own words. This is the first time that the social health web has been indexed on such a massive scale.
Last month, Treato announced a partnership with Internet Health Brands to implement Treato search technology on two of its flagship health discussion websites, eHealthForum (http://www.ehealthforum.com) and HealthBoards (http://www.healthboards.com), two of the largest health-related community sites on the Internet.
Developed by First Life Research, Treato™ is a new source of medical information based on real life experiences of patients. Treato analyzes patient discussions about drugs and medical conditions on blogs and forums, aggregating them into a single, clear and highly accessible knowledge base. Launched on September 2011, Treato is generating the aggregated patients' voice for the very first time. Treato is available to the public at http://www.treato.com.
