GasTOPS Ltd. celebrated the grand opening of its new, expanded Service Centre in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia on 30 November 2011. Since the opening of the Service Centre at its original site in 2009, GasTOPS’ technical services business has undergone significant expansion, so much so that a new facility was required to support its growing business activities. In late 2011, the company moved to a new, expanded facility on John Savage Drive in Burnside Park, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
The opening ceremony was attended by many of the company’s customers, partners and suppliers. Deputy Mayor Bill Karsten of the Halifax Regional Municipality and Matthew Sparway from the offices of MP Robert Chisholm were on hand to congratulate the company and to participate in a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
The Service Centre is the focal point for the company’s technical services business, providing aircraft component repair and health monitoring services for both military and commercial customers in Canada. GasTOPS is an authorized repair facility for FLIR Systems Inc. electro-optical/infra-red (EO/IR) thermal imaging and stabilized camera systems, Breeze-Eastern Corporation hydraulic and electrical rescue hoist systems and ACES/Dynamic Instruments Inc. vibration analyzers and transducer test kits.
In his remarks at the ceremony Dave Muir, President and CEO of GasTOPS stated: “Three years ago we transplanted a small branch of our company, planning to put down roots in this community and hoping the branch would grow. It has indeed grown, and this growth and the success of the Service Centre can be attributed to the strong support we have received from our customers, partners, suppliers and employees.
