About the Author
The president and chief director of the Canadian Association of Medical Spas and Aesthetic Surgeons, Dr. Dariush Honardoust has trained and worked in Canada since 1996. His main interests in the field of aesthetic medicine include non-surgical face and body contouring, therapeutic and cosmetic botulinum toxin treatment, dermal fillers, chemical peels, and laser cosmetics. His research interests include development of an innovative engineered skin and characterizing the role of Small Leucine-rich Proteoglycans (SLRPs) in the prevention of hypertrophic scar formation after burn, traumatic, acne and surgical wounds as well as dermal scars after cosmetic laser operations. He has been conducting his research in wound healing research group and received his doctorate specialty in Cranio-Facial / Dental from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of British Colombia and postdoctoral training from the department of Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery, University of Alberta, Canada. He is also a consultant advisor in aesthetic medicine for some Canadian and US investment firms.
