Get to know Puglia, Provence, Tuscany and Vietnam through their local cuisine.

VBT Bicycling and Walking Vacations has announced four unique culinary vacations in Puglia, Provence, Tuscany, and Vietnam continuing the VBT tradition of providing discovery-filled vacations at unsurpassed value. On five special departures travelers will have the opportunity to visit family-run food shops, take in special cooking classes, indulge in home-cooked meals, and complement those highlights with a breadth of local wine and other beverages.

VBT’s 2012 culinary vacation line-up draws on the tenants of the local food movement and follows the success of their very popular culinary vacations in 2011. Each tour will be led by a local, expert Trip Leader who will provide insider tips, unique discovery opportunities and a perspective that only someone from the region can provide.

On the April 9, 2012 culinary vacation to Puglia: Italy’s Undiscovered Coast, travelers will experience the freshest seafood and local, wild vegetables while cycling along Italy’s Adriatic Coast. The trip will include exploration of olive groves, samplings of local wines, and a chance to throw a few pizzas with a master pizzaiolo.

Warm temperatures and coastal breezes will frame a special culinary experience on both of VBT’s Provence: The Alpilles vacations. Featuring departures on September 3, 2012, and October 15, 2012, travelers will cycle Southern France, enjoying a home-cooked meal, a local cheese tasting, and a tasting of local rosé wine and lush, vibrant reds among other highlights.

Travelers will have the chance to take a Tuscan cooking class, sample local wine, and spend several evenings dining and staying in a Tuscan agriturismo’s on VBT’s October 5, 2012 vacation to Tuscany by the Sea.

On VBT’s November 20, 2012 Journey Through Vietnam culinary vacation, travelers will enjoy mild temperatures while cycling through the countryside past craggy mountains and verdant rice fields. Culinary highlights will include a tour of the My Tho market, a visit to a family-run food shop, and a special Vietnamese cooking class.

Attesting to their unsurpassed value, VBT is presenting these culinary tours at no extra charge. VBT’s one-of-a-kind Culinary Tours have very limited space, only 14-20 travelers on each departure, and will fill quickly.
