Jewelry Television Reaches Record Black Friday Week

Network saw increase of 50,000 shoppers

This year we strategically aligned all of our shopping channels---broadcast, web, and mobile to cross promote each other and drive traffic between all three.

Jewelry Television®, the nation’s largest shopping network dedicated exclusively to the sale of fine jewelry and gemstones, announced a record setting Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday. The jewelry shopping network saw a marked increase of 50,000 additional shoppers this year and jewelry sales were up 13 percent. JTV.com saw increases of up to 20 percent.

“We’re pleased to report respectable numbers at a time when retailers are still struggling with current economic challenges,” said Randy Sadler, vice president of marketing at JTV. “We attribute the 15 percent increase in jewelry sales to consumers realizing that JTV provides great value. Our international sourcing operations and global buying power is allowing JTV to remain competitive.”

JTV’s Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday promotions featured items such as colored diamonds, pearls, tanzanite, watches, and the latest jewelry fashion trends. The top selling item - which sold out in record time - was a Mararabá amethyst ring from the Limited Edition 2011 Holiday Collection.

The network launched a marketing campaign touting “Every Friday is Black Friday at JTV” four weeks prior to Black Friday. JTV.com deployed a similar strategy with four consecutive Cyber Monday promotions offering free shipping and discount pricing on select items in the Cyber Monday online store. Doorbuster pricing, Today’s Best Value, free shipping, and online deals kept customers coming back.
