With the generous support of our donors, we’ve provided funding for youngsters whose parents are committed to their education and development, but lack the financial resources to afford preschool.

Preschool Advantage, the Morristown, NJ-based non-profit that funds preschool for children in need, recently announced the launch of its annual fundraising campaign and goal of raising $400,000 to send more than 100 children to preschool in the 2012-2013 school year. Since its founding in 1995, Preschool Advantage has provided tuition assistance for over 600 children from low income families to attend quality preschool programs in Morris County and surrounding areas. Funded entirely through private donations from individuals, corporations and foundations, the organization is attempting to surpass its previous high of 65 sponsored children in one year.

“With the generous support of our donors, we’ve provided funding for youngsters whose parents are committed to their education and development, but lack the financial resources to afford preschool,” said Barbara Demarest, President of Preschool Advantage. “The children we sponsored last year came from families with an average annual income of approximately $28,600, including 20 families earning less than $21,000. These children could not have attended preschool without our assistance”, added Demarest.

Preschool Advantage recognizes the profound effect preschool education has on a child's future growth. Studies have demonstrated that early childhood education significantly affects a child’s intellectual development, self-confidence, and even future earning potential. “Early learning not only helps children grow up to be responsible and fulfilled adults, it helps build stronger, safer and more productive communities”, said Karen Titterton, the organization’s Executive Director. “All contributions are devoted to achieving those objectives.”
