The world’s largest mobile barbeque unit, BA BBQ, announces its 2012 “Low and Slow Tour.” The tractor trailer unit will “travel the country, hitting a variety of events,” say Anthony Romberger, a United States Marine Iraq War veteran, partner and spokesperson for BA BBQ. Romberger goes on to say that, “It’s been such a great time building the rig.” The idea was brought to him by one of the partners, and after sitting down and looking at the plans, they set out to build this one of a kind mobile barbeque unit. The building of the unit was tough at times, but overall was a great experience, Romberger stated.

The mobile barbeque tractor trailer has plenty of firsts in the mobile barbeque world. The height, when fully erected, is over twenty seven feet tall! When its set up is complete, it is over fourteen feet wide; and when it’s motoring down the road, it’s an amazing sixty eight feet long. The traveling barbeque unit is fully self-sufficient. It contains its own fresh water tank and waste water tanks, runs on either 220 electric or generator power. Romberger asserts that the cooking is done on both open charcoal grills and or the use of their incredibly large smoker. The rig contains its own refrigeration unit and boasts two propane fryers, for those home cut French fries.

This tractor trailer barbeque unit will reach an assortment of events, from state and county fairs to sporting events large and small; and the integration of hosting corporate events will ascertain a unique level of entertainment action from time to time. Anthony tells fans of the mobile barbeque unit, that the second unit’s construction will start in April, and be completed by June for the Pennsylvania County Fair circuit. Romberger reveals his delight and sheer amazement when people show their surprise when the tractor trailer unit is out and about, boasting the size of its smoker and grills, or just the workmanship of the rig.

Being from central Pennsylvania, not exactly recognized on the world’s barbeque map, Romberger feels the homemade barbeque sauces they have created will be a huge hit no matter where they go, and BA BBQ may just put Pennsylvania on that barbeque map. These great tasting barbeque sauces were crafted by one of the partners, who cultivated a range of sweet to sweet and tangy to spicy barbeque. Romberger says that a special tomato based red sauce, called Rustic Red, goes excellent with the homemade meatballs, which people just rave about.
Romberger, and his partner’s mobile barbeque tractor trailer unit, being one of a kind, wanted to appeal to all ages. They proudly created and introduced its own comic strip that will reflect the camaraderie and disdain of characters of BA BBQ. The characters are brought to life by the very talented Macy Spancake, a 15-year old Cumberland Valley High School student. Being unique is important, Romberger reflects, and they have gone that little extra length for kids to have an opportunity to visit their friendly mascot, BA, a bull with big heart.

During the construction and concept phase, the partners agreed in the significance to give back and initiated the collaboration with Feel Your Boobies Foundation, “a breast cancer non-profit organization whose mission is to create an annual reminder campaign that utilizes unexpected and unconventional methods to remind young women “to feel their boobies.”” A portion of proceeds from purchases will be contributed to the foundation during the 2012 Low & Slow Tour.

Additionally, BA BBQ has positively brought its celebrity status to the likes of television producers, desiring to film the diverse aspects and phenomenon of barbeque, from the construction of the rigs to traveling. Romberger has said he is dealing with his new found celebrity status, it’s a rush and loves it, but says the truck keeps him busy, describing all the details.

Make sure to check out this one of a kind tractor trailer at an event, or look for it running down the highway. Check out, to see where Anthony, or the BA BBQ unit will be.
