Hallandale Beach, FL (PRWEB) December 07, 2011
Gulfstream Park and The Village at Gulfstream Park will play host on Wednesday, December 7 to a Wine Walk to benefit the Gulfstream Park Thoroughbred After-Care Program (http://www.gpaftercare.com), a program to benefit retired thoroughbred horses.
For $10 per person, guests attending the event in Miami will be able to sample from five wine tasting stations and seven food stations throughout the Village, which is illuminated with holiday decorations for its nightly Festival of Lights show.
The Wine Walk begins at 6 p.m. Those participating in this unique experience are asked to sign-up at Full Bodied Wine & Spa, which is just west of Gulfstream’s walking ring across from Brio Tuscan Grille and next to Williams-Sonoma in the Village.
Gulfstream’s walking ring, a focal point of the Village with its colored fountain and Christmas lights, will also play host to three horses, including popular Breakfast at Gulfstream mascot “Hollywood”. Guests will be able to meet the horses and get their pictures taken with them during the benefit.
The Gulfstream Park Thoroughbred After-Care Program was founded in February by Gulfstream Chairman, Mr. Frank Stronach, to help match horses with loving owners who will make a lifelong commitment to their health, safety and well being.
Mr. Stronach and his family have been industry leaders in the retraining and rehabilitation of thoroughbred horses and an advocate and supporter of several retirement programs. Earlier this year Mr. Stronach was honored with the inaugural Earle Mack Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation’s Champions’ Award for raising awareness and support for retired thoroughbreds.
Mr. Stronach set an industry precedent eight years ago by developing the first in-house retirement program, Adena Retirement. He has also set up an after-care program at Santa Anita Park.
