Certified Energy Professional

We are leaving nothing to chance. The energy market is complex, so we need to find the right people that can properly handle the complexities.

Energy Management Resources (EMR) demonstrated how it stands behind its tag line of “Unparalleled Experience = Powerful Solutions” by proudly announcing that Carter House, Junior Account Director, and Leisha Lewis, Regional Analyst, earned their Certified Energy Procurement (CEP) accreditation and Terry Hummel, Senior Client Services Analyst, achieved his Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) certification.
The CEP and CEA certifications are offered by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and are recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Department of State, Fortune 1000 companies, utilities, energy service companies, and countless others. In order to acquire either certification, the individual must have a number of years experience and education in the energy field, attend a rigorous three-day training program, pass a four-hour industry knowledge examination and receive approval from AEE’s Certification Board. Each certified professional is required to obtain continuing education credits or professional development hours in order to maintain their certification.
According to AEE, recipients must demonstrate a high level of knowledge, experience, competency and ethical fitness covering the full spectrum of activities related to the purchase, sale and marketing of electricity and natural gas. In addition, the CEA program requires the individual to demonstrate knowledge of the principles and practices of energy auditing by completing an examination and fulfilling prescribed standards of performance and conduct.
Darrel Palmer, President of EMR, explained it as, “We are leaving nothing to chance. The energy market is complex, so we need to find the right people that can properly handle the complexities. Our tag line isn’t something we just put on our marketing material – it’s the way we do business. We are in the people business and I’m proud to have Terry, Leisha, Carter and Derek on our team.”
