Renee Lowry steps into position as Executive Director of Feeding Pets of the Homeless. Genevieve Frederick, the organization's founder steps down to the position of President of the Board of Directors.
Frederick said, "We are very excited to have this dedicated and compassionate woman take the lead. As our nonprofit continues its amazing growth, Renee will remain a tireless advocate for the nation's pets of the homeless."
Lowry has been on the board of Pets of the Homeless as its secretary since its beginning in 2008. Before coming to Nevada, Lowry was employed in the computer industry in Silicon Valley. In Nevada, she worked in the mortgage industry for six years, which she leaves for Pets of the Homeless. Lowry will oversee the daily operations, two part-time employees and numerous volunteers across the country.
Lowry said with enthusiasm, "Pets of the Homeless is near and dear to my heart. With a vision and sheer determination, Genevieve took an idea and ran with it. Under-served animals from less than desirable circumstances have been helped because of her initial dream. Her shoes will be difficult to fill but because of her compassion, example and support, I am ready for this opportunity."

Pets of the Homeless works with over 300 volunteer donation sites that have provided over 92.5 tons of pet food to food banks and others that have distributed the pet food. The nonprofit has awarded over $67,000 to veterinarians that have treated over 4,500 pets that belong to the homeless.
