We wanted to leverage existing member generated content and give back to the educators' community.
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 07, 2011
Test Designer (http://www.testdesigner.com), an online resource that allows teachers to develop and store professionally formatted tests and worksheets, is for the first time providing select content free to non-members. With a database of more than 40,000 public questions, Test Designer covers more than 300 subjects, from Pre-K through post-graduate and continuing education.
“We wanted to leverage existing member generated content and give back to the educators' community by providing more free content,” said Lilia Tovbin, co-founder. Each month, its more than 100,000 members nationwide add upwards of 3,000 questions, expanding the site’s content coverage and making it more appealing to a wider audience of education professionals. By offering free worksheets, Test Designer will make new subject matter more visible by organizing its content in a new, more useful way.
Unlike many other online education sites, visitors to Test Designer can access free worksheets without being members, with no registration required, or they can take advantage of the site’s free basic membership. Comparable sites require a yearly membership fee, often between $30-$50, just to get access to worksheets, with limited or no trial offers.
“Education portals offer good value to their subscribers who take advantage of all the resources they offer, but sometimes all a teacher wants or needs is a single worksheet for one challenging topic and either can’t or isn’t willing to pay a $40 yearly membership fee, “ said Tovbin. “The option of free standalone worksheets serves a more immediate need for teachers.”
