Gold Distinction awarded to local pain clinic Lexington Algiatry. One in four adults in the US say they suffered a day long bout of pain in the past month and one in ten say the pain lasted a year or more, reports the center for disease control.
Laurie Cox has lived those statistics. A retired registered nurse, she suffered from chronic back pain for nearly ten years, seeking relief from epidural injections which she hated: “I had no life”, she said. Laurie Cox feels fortunate to have discovered Lexington Algiatry in Lexington KY. The clinic has recently been distinguished as a Gold Distinction program. “Doctor Azmat was able to get me my quality of life back” she commented. She has been under Dr. Najam Azmat’s care for the last four months. Warren Gold, who oversees the clinic’s operations, says “Dr Azmat has a huge following. Patients love him”.
After years of different doctors and treatments Steven Patterson of Lexington KY knew immediately that he had come to the right place when he arrived at Lexington Algiatry. “The minute Dr Azmat walked in the room, I felt good”, he said. That feeling of being in good hands was no coincidence. According to Warren Gold, the clinic’s operations manager, “our goal is to make each patient feel like they are being guided through the whole process. We have created a pathway from the first visit all the way through treatment so that the staff members all speak the same language and each patient has been fully educated and has correct expectations.”
“We have developed a model of care that meets the needs of each patient”, said Warren Gold, the manager.
The Gold Distinction was designed to help consumers and their physicians find the best medical facilities for specialty care. The Gold Distinction recognizes facilities that meet objective, evidence-based clinical quality standards.
