Year-over-Year Online Sales Are Up 42%

CHEFS Catalog, a leading online kitchenware retailer, is seeing the benefits of their aggressive efforts to grow their pure play web business this year. “The main focus for CHEFS this year has been building traffic to our enhanced website and expanded product offerings,” said CHEFS CEO Tim Littleton. “Roughly 70% of our volume comes to us over the web, but much of that is still driven by our catalog,” according to Littleton.

Significant strategies developed this year focused on building pure play sales going into the holiday season, and the success seen on Monday is a good indicator the strategies are working. “We saw strong performance from all channels on CYBER Monday,” says Littleton. “Paid search was up over 100% with a higher return on ad spend, Amazon performed at an unprecedented high, email response was tremendous, and our newly launched mobile site saw heavy traffic.”
It is still early in the holiday season but an optimistic Littleton notes that if Monday is any indicator, 2011 should finish strong. “We could not be more pleased with the results so far in response to our efforts to build our pure play volumes.”
