Supports Statewide Girl Scout Centennial Celebration

The Girl Scout Councils of New Jersey are proud to announce A.C. Moore as a Leadership Sponsor for its 100th Anniversary events. An avid supporter of Girl Scouting, A.C. Moore helps to mark the organization’s 100th anniversary through its contributions to November’s bridging event on the George Washington Bridge as well as to the culminating B.I.G. (Believe in Girls) Celebration at Liberty State Park in June 2012.

In support of the bridging event, A.C. Moore developed, designed and provided craft activities and expertise at its A.C. Moore Craft Zone. Activities included a canvas drawing project, a paper Rosette pin making station, a necklace making station, and the “Past, Present, Future” Girl Scout Project, where girls predicted and designed girl scouting uniforms of the future that will be displayed at the June event. A. C. Moore also provided retail bags for the Girl Scout On-Site Retail store. A.C. Moore will provide similar support for June’s final 100th anniversary event as well.

“A.C. Moorevalues the significant role that Girl Scouts plays in developing today’s female leaders,” said Helen Wronski, CEO & President of the Girl Scouts of Northern NJ. “We are fortunate to have found such a great partner who readily supports our organization’s programs and initiatives. Our girls loved the craft activities A.C. Moore developedfor our recent centennial bridging event and appreciated their staff’s expert guidance, and we look forward to their participation in our June event as well.”

“A.C. Moore is proud to be a sponsor of the bridging event in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouting. Inspiration, empowerment and creativity are all important attributes we want to instill in these girls and young women. The Make & Take activities we planned for the event, the Rosette Pins, Swap Necklaces and Future Girl Scout uniforms, are fun projects that definitely sparked their imaginations and got them excited for June’s big event,” said Robin Beam, Director of Education for A.C. Moore.
