The tenth annual conference and exhibition will offer training in RFID deployment and applications development.

RFID Journal announced today that two fast-track RFID training courses will be offered to attendees at RFID Journal LIVE! 2012 (http://www.rfidjournalevents.com/live), the world's premier conference and exhibition focused on radio frequency identification (RFID) and its many business applications.

“Many end-user companies and systems integrators are eager to deepen their RFID knowledge as deployments scale up,” said Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. “We are pleased to be able to partner with RFID4U to bring our audience this high-quality technical education, in addition to our focus on the business benefits of RFID.”

The next LIVE! event will be held on Apr. 3-5, 2012, at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin resort, located in Orlando, Fla. The two training courses, Fast-Track RFID Deployment Training and Fast-Track RFID Applications Developers Training—both part of RFID4U’s Fast-Track Series—will provide attendees with practical hands-on training for implementing RFID, through lectures and lab exercises.

“RFID4U is very pleased to offer, in partnership with RFID Journal at LIVE! 2102, two brand-new Fast-Track Series training programs,” said Sanjiv Dua, RFID4U's CEO. “RFID solutions are being deployed today across numerous functional operations, and consequently, companies need to understand how to correctly deploy RFID systems, from both a hardware and software perspective. Running a project without a solid understanding of technology is like visiting a strange land without a roadmap.”

Fast-Track RFID Deployment Training is an advanced, one-day fast-track skills camp, featuring the latest equipment and relevant scenarios, created to provide a solid foundation for designing, installing, configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting RFID deployments at small and midsize businesses and enterprise installations. The course, a combination of lecture and hands-on lab exercises, will provide a functional understanding regarding the use of RFID readers, tags, printers and general-purpose input/output (GPIO) devices. Participants will develop a working understanding of troubleshooting methodologies, based on best practices, industry-proven processes and the instructor's practical experiences.

Fast-Track RFID Applications Developers Training, an instructor-led course, teaches software application developers how to build the next generation of rich, interactive RFID applications for passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) RFID readers and peripherals. A combination of lecture and hands-on lab exercises, this course will provide various ways in which to programmatically control fixed and handheld RFID readers, printers and GPIO devices—either directly, or via Open Process Control (OPC) servers. Participants will develop a working understanding of proven methodologies, based on best practices, industry-proven processes and the instructor's practical experiences.

“Both of these advanced-level courses combine lecture and practical exercises to ensure a high level of hands-on experience,” Sanjiv stated. “They take participants to the next level of expertise in RFID solution implementations.”

LIVE! 2012 will also feature four industry-specific and four level-of-expertise conference tracks, as well as eight in-depth preconference seminars and workshops, fast-track training, the RFID Journal Awards, and two co-located events—IEEE RFID 2012 and The AIDC 100: RFID and Bar-Code Co-existence. In addition, the conference will offer exhibits and demonstrations conducted by the industry's leading technology firms. For more information, visit http://www.rfidjournalevents.com/live.
