Author J.P. LaRue grew up in the lake country of northern Minnesota, and was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman before suffering a life-threatening asthma attack when he was just 17. Although he survived a near-fatal coma after the attack, his life changed dramatically. LaRue has worked to overcome blindness and physical disabilities to become an author, inventor and poet. He writes with Morse code using a switch he designed. LaRue now lives in southeast Ohio.
