Former Columbiana County Commissioner Steps Down to Take Job in the Private Sector with IWS

Interstate Waste Services (IWS), founded with a commitment to provide dependable, quality solid waste services and exceptional customer support, is proud to announce the appointment of Penny Traina to their management team.

In her new capacity, Ms. Traina will be responsible for managing the municipal bid process, identifying market needs, and achieving sales growth in the Pennsylvania Region. As liaison between the company and local governments, she will be participating in community meetings and developing opportunities for expansion within the state.

Most recently, Ms. Traina spent 5 years serving as Columbiana County Commissioner where she led the legislative and policy setting team for the county. In addition, she has served on multiple Boards of Directors and is an active member of many civic organizations throughout the State of Ohio. Her leadership and service has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Chamber of Commerce Woman/Citizen of the Year award in 2007.

Prior to her post as Commissioner, she spent 15 years working for the Wellsville School District in Wellsville, Ohio as an Accountant, Treasurer and CFO. Ms. Traina holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resources and a Treasurers’ license in the State of Ohio, and will be working out of the Interstate Waste Services offices in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
