Pearson today named eight private sector and career college students to its popular Campus Ambassador program. The program provides students with practical work experience as they collaborate with faculty, other students and Pearson professionals to shape existing and future programs and services. More than 100 public and private sector higher education institutions participate in the Campus Ambassador program.

The following students have been named Pearson Campus Ambassadors:

  •     Dolora Brita – Pima Medical Institute
  •     Brad Coen – Santa Barbara Business College
  •     Holly Creel – South University
  •     Cynthia Jones – Rasmussen College
  •     Anthony Rodrigues – Dunwoody College
  •     Carlos Vidot – College of Westchester
  •     B. Susan Wheeler – Vista College
  •     Patrick Wirkus – Globe University

Pearson Campus Ambassadors commit to a minimum of six months of service and assist with a variety of activities, including market research into service learning initiatives at their schools; evaluating new Pearson offerings that tackle recruiting and placement issues; contributing to Pearson’s blog to share student perspectives; and assisting with initiatives that demonstrate improved effectiveness and outcomes to institutions in support of federal standards.

“The Pearson Campus Ambassador internship has provided me with the tremendous opportunity to gain useful real-world experience, while improving my professional skills,” said Patrick Wirkus, student at Globe University. “I’m looking forward to being the voice of students as well as having the opportunity to take the skills I have learned in the classroom and apply them in a real business setting.”

“Pearson’s Campus Ambassador program connects us directly with our most important customers: the students we serve. Extending this successful program to students at private sector and career colleges offers them a unique opportunity to gain real-world work experience and enhance not only their own learning, but that of their peers,” said Don Kilburn, CEO of Pearson Learning Solutions.
