The one marketable skill an organizational leadership graduate should have is the ability to manage people – to develop them, empower them, and lead them, said Diana-Christine Teodorescu, director of the M.A. in Organizational Leadership program

Saint Mary’s University has unveiled a new website dedicated to online programs. The site, http://www.onlineprograms.smumn.edu, is designed to reach working professionals interested in earning a career-oriented degree from a respected, traditional higher education institution, but with the convenience of completing coursework remotely and around their own schedules.
The website launches with three master’s degree programs.
The online Master of Science in Project Management prepares students to confidently lead projects from beginning to end using project management framework and best practices. The curriculum closely follows the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge Guide. Saint Mary’s is one of only 32 schools in the world accredited by the Project Management Institute Global Accreditation Center. Students in the program accumulate the 4,500 hours of project management experience required to sit for the Project Management Professional (PMP) examination—a significant savings in terms of time and money. “The timing of this online program is perfect, as top companies around the world continue to seek individuals with advanced degrees and project management training to lead and manage complex projects across borders, industries, and diverse work settings,” said Gerald Ellis, program director.
The online Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership degree program enables students to earn this degree in only 20 months, thanks to a unique delivery model that combines the activities and coursework of two classes into one semester to simulate the interconnectedness and complexity of a real work environment. The program focuses on helping students to become agents of change and adaptive leaders skilled in the softer side of management, such as in influencing, collaboration, and conflict management. “The one marketable skill an organizational leadership graduate should have is the ability to manage people – to develop them, empower them, and lead them,” said Diana-Christine Teodorescu, director of the M.A. in Organizational Leadership program, who added that one common element among the program’s graduates is their “tremendous confidence and skill in working with people.” Students gain that confidence by taking five semesters of themed classes grouped to simulate the work of managerial leaders. Each successive semester moves students through the progressive steps required to be an effective leader.
The online Master of Arts in Human Resource Management degree program at offers students an in-depth education in specific areas of Human Resources as well as leadership management principles that can prepare students for a critical role within an organization. The program focuses on maximizing individual and team efforts and developing and applying leadership skills within a human resources department as well as maximizing human capital to drive positive change within an organization, and ultimately in our society.
These online programs exhibit the best of Saint Mary’s on-campus experience—a diverse, engaged student body, faculty members with extensive real-world experience, a supportive staff, and accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, while also giving students the convenience of studying from home on their own schedules. Classes are entirely online and asynchronous, allowing students to complete their weekly coursework around their own schedules.
The new website offers potential students a wealth of information about the university and its programs. The “About Us” section highlights the history and mission of Saint Mary’s, a Lasallian, Catholic institution with a history dating back to 1912, as well as details about admissions requirements, financial aid, and the application process.
