New Home Inspectors can earn the RHI designation by completing the Carson Dunlop Education Program

The Ontario Association of Home Inspectors (OAHI) has recognized the Carson Dunlop Home Inspection Training Program as satisfying the membership requirements of the OAHI. Students of the Carson Dunlop program will now reach a significant milestone on the road to receiving the prestigious Registered Home Inspector (RHI) designation in Ontario upon completion of the 10 courses.

The program is available from Carson Dunlop in a distance education format. It is also available from many community colleges in Ontario, delivered as classroom or distance education. This premium quality program provides full career training, rather than an introduction to the profession. The 10 courses were developed by Carson Dunlop in collaboration with education design consultants, and the distance education specialists from Memorial University.

The education program leverages Carson Dunlop's 34 years as a leading consulting engineering firm in the home inspection field. Carson Dunlop have considerable experience on the education side of home inspection dating back to 1990, including classroom teaching, published books, online courses, conference presentations, webinars, papers and articles. The program uses a consistent methodology across the 10 textbooks and CD-ROMs. The focus is on practical applied knowledge rather than theoretical discussion. As part of the education program, Carson Dunlop provides students with free use of their cloud-based report writing system, Horizon, to help them develop the necessary report writing skills.
