The D.C. Public Charter School Board and Mayor Vincent Gray chose Achievement Prep to unveil the first set of rankings of the Performance Measurement Framework (PMF), because of Achievement Prep’s exceptional results for students growing up in some of city's most challenging demographics.

Achievement Prep – a public charter school in Ward 8 of Southeast D.C. - founded and lead by Building Excellent Schools Fellow Shantelle Wright - served as the host site earlier this week for the release of a new sophisticated evaluation tool that offers parents a better assessment of public charter school success in the District of Columbia.

The D.C. Public Charter School Board and Mayor Vincent Gray chose Achievement Prep to unveil the first set of rankings of the Performance Measurement Framework (PMF), because of Achievement Prep’s exceptional results for students growing up in some of city's most challenging demographics.

Commenting on the decision to have Achievement Prep serve as site for the press conference, Head of School Ms. Shantelle Wright said, “We are thrilled with this unique honor bestowed on Achievement Prep by both the Public Charter Board and by the Mayor. Our exceptional team – and the purposeful efforts of our scholars – led us to a strong PMF school ranking.” Achievement Prep ranks in the top slots of Tier One schools.

An amazing school with incredible leadership, Achievement Prep currently has spots available for scholars entering grades 4 and 5 for the 2012-2013 school year. Interested families should contact the Achievement Prep Admissions Office at 202-562-1214. Ms. Wright continued, “Today clearly demonstrates that the achievement gap in education can be closed. Achievement Prep is proof positive. We look forward to welcoming more families into the school.”
