EQ Media, Inc. Elects Board Of Directors

Los Angeles-based entertainment and media company has elected its Board of Directors.

EQ Media, Inc., a Los Angeles-based entertainment and media company, and its two wholly-owned subsidiaries, ‘The Gift LLC’ and ‘Equilibrium Entertainment LLC’ has elected its Board of Directors. The elected Board of Directors are as follows:

Demian Lichtenstein (CEO): Demian founded his first production company and became one of the top music video directors in the business in his early twenties; producing and directing videos for Warner Brothers, Sony Music, Columbia Records, Epic Records, Tommy Boy Records, Universal/MCA, and many more. To his credit, Lichtenstein produced and directed over 250 music videos including Grammy Award winning artists such as Sting and Eric Clapton, as well as having achieved #1 world videos in the Pop, Rock 'n' Roll, Rap, and Reggae genres. In 1997, Lichtenstein made his feature directorial debut with the film Lowball which he also wrote and produced for the Showtime Network. Lowball received numerous awards on the independent film circuit.

After serving as Chairman of the New York Independent Film Coalition, Lichtenstein moved to Hollywood and within six months, raised $60 million dollars for the feature film 3000 Miles To Graceland, which he wrote, produced and directed for Warner Brothers. The film's cast includes Kevin Costner, Kurt Russell, Christian Slater, Courtney Cox, Ice T, Howie Long, Jon Lovitz, Kevin Pollak, Thomas Haden Church, and David Arquette. Lichtenstein also produced the soundtrack, featuring songs by Elvis Presley, BT, Filter and The Crystal Method. Graceland has gone on to become an international cult hit in constant worldwide rotation on HBO and now Network Television. Lichtenstein also created and directed Discover the Gift, a feature-length inspirational documentary, as well as wrote the companion book of the same title published by Random House and currently available in 22 countries.    

Mr. Lichtenstein is a co-founding member of the Directors Guild of America Senior Leadership Council and is a member of the Writers Guild of America, The Screen Actors Guild. Lichtenstein is also a co-founding member of the Association of Transformational Leaders of Southern California and is a world recognized motivational and inspirational speaker. Demian earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film, with extensive studies in Business from NYU. Upon graduating at the age of 21, he started his first company Lightstone Productions which quickly became one op the top independent music-video production companies in New York City.

Gregory O’Connor (President): Greg is an award-winning filmmaker, content creator, and entrepreneur. His company Solaris Entertainment is a successful film and television company based in New York and Los Angeles. Starting in 1999 with Tumbleweeds, a film that won the Filmmaker’s Award at Sundance (and was nominated for an Academy Award and won the Golden Globe for Best Actress) Greg has gone on to create and produce films including Miracle for Disney, Pride & Glory for Warner Bros., The Smashing Machine for HBO, and the recently released Warrior for Lionsgate, in addition to developing and producing television under a 3 year production deal with Paramount Television Studios.

Prior to his involvement in film and media Mr. O’Connor was Chief Executive of OCS Security Services, a family owned company with $35 million in annual revenue that Greg sold in 2006. Greg has a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and resides in New York.

Marc Weill (Chief Financial Officer): Marc Weill has worked in the financial services and investment banking industry for three decades. In 2004, he was the founder of Citylight Capital where he lead initiatives in early stage venture capital focused on Homeland Security, nano technology and alternative energy market projects. From 1989-2000, Weill served as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for Citigroup overseeing the Planning Group, where he was responsible for managing $130 billion in assets and managing a global team of 600 employees. Weill also oversaw Citigroup's Asset Liability Management Portfolio and Risk Return for the entire Universe of Citigroup's banking products, where he also managed the asset side of the balance sheet while being subject to P&L, tax, regulatory and risk constraints.

At Citigroup, Weill invested $30 billion in alternative assets, real estate, venture capital and private equity in media, fixed income, arbitrage and leveraged fixed income. During Weill's stay at Citigroup, he consistently ranked in the 25th performance percentile.

From 1989-1991, Weill worked for Smith Barney--Investment Banking, where he oversaw restructuring and the Oil and Gas areas. Between 1983-1989, he worked as a Retail Broker for Shearson Lehman handling financial planning and money management for corporate executives. Marc Weill began his career at Shearson Amex as a Risk Arb Trader in 1980. Marc Weill holds a B.A. from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Columbia University. He lives in New York City and is Father of two children.
