Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) December 14, 2011
Joe Palumbo, owner of Ice Dam Guys in Minneapolis, is pleased to announce the official launch of the first (known) blog specifically devoted to the subject of ice dam removal.
Nicknamed the “Ice Dam Blog,” it was created to address a serious and costly problem facing many American homeowners during the winter months: the formation of ice dams on rooftops. Ice dams typically form during or after periods of heavy snowfall, in which poorly insulated attics cause roofs to heat up and melt the snow that covers them, which becomes water. The water flows down the roof, and refreezes along the overhangs and valleys of the roof, forming large dams of ice. These dams cause the runoff from the melted snow to form pools of water directly on the roof, which often seeps through the shingles and causes interior leaking.
The ice-dam-related topics currently covered on the blog so far include how to prevent ice dams, how to combat leaking caused by them, and how to choose a quality ice dam removal company. New articles are added to the blog weekly. Other free resources on the website, http://www.icedamremovalguys.com, include an “Ice Dam Myth Busters” page and an image gallery.
Through the blog and the other resources, Joe Palumbo hopes to spread awareness about ice dams in general, to address common misconceptions about the causes of and remedies for ice dams, and to provide information that allows homeowners to prevent ice dams or get them removed safely and cost-effectively.
