OutSystems, provider of the industry leading Agile Platform application development environment, today announced its further expansion into the federal sector and the addition of Al Fox to lead their federal sales initiatives.
With cloud computing, data center consolidation, and application modernization initiatives top of mind for U.S. government agencies, the time for OutSystems to expand into the federal sector has never been better. According to a new report by Meritalk and the Unisys Center for Information in Government, four out of five C-level federal IT executives said mission-critical government capabilities are at risk if agencies do not modernize legacy applications. In response, government investments in modernizing mission-critical applications and infrastructure are escalating.
“Our initial entry into the federal space has proven that the Agile Platform can provide dramatic cycle time reductions when migrating legacy applications to modern web2.0 and mobile architectures,” commented Jeff Newlin, North American General Manager for OutSystems. “Al’s extensive experience in building effective federal sales channels will be an asset to OutSystems’ continued growth in this sector.”
In his new role, Fox will oversee OutSystems’ U.S. federal government business, where he will drive the continued growth of subscription and service sales and help further expand the company’s government business. Fox comes to OutSystems with more than 20 years of experience in sales and management. Most recently, he held the position of vice president, public sector operations at Government Sales Specialists, the nation's leading outsourced government sales organization, where he helped coach and enable companies to interface with government buyers resulting in over $100 million in government contracts in a two year period. Prior to that, Fox was the senior director of public sector operations at Verint Systems where he managed all of the federal, state/local and national accounts.
Commenting on his decision to join OutSystems, Fox noted that OutSystems’ products are well suited to support the IT agenda of federal agencies “the Agile Platform provides federal agencies with a development environment that not only allows for speedy delivery, but provides platform as a service (PaaS) capabilities to support the ongoing government cloud initiatives,” noted Fox.
