Multi-award winning children’s book app for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch makes it easy and fun for slow, struggling and reluctant readers to fall in love with reading.

Goosed Up Rhymes, the delightfully zany and fully animated iPad book app for early readers, has been named to Digital Storytime’s list of Best iPad Book Apps for Older and Struggling Readers Aged 10 and Up.

The award is the latest in a series of critical acclaim that the popular children’s book app has received since its launch in March, 2011. Other notable distinctions for Goosed Up Rhymes include being hailed by the New York Times as one of the Best Children’s Apps on the iPad, being selected to the Art of the iPhone’s 25 best iPad Apps for Kids List, and receiving the Editor’s Choice Award from the Children’s Technology Review.

Designed by co-creators Tod Carter, Founder of Brain Freeze Entertainment and Animation Director, and Joe Spadaford, Art Director, Goosed Up Rhymes features:

  •     70 storybook animated interactions
  •     8 fully-animated storybook pages with lush, full color illustrations
  •     4 interactive games that focus on shape puzzles, memory and recognition, and hand-eye coordination
  •     Fully interactive touch screen technology that reads each word, so that children can learn one word at a time

“It’s an honor to be named to this coveted list, and I’m thrilled to see our children’s book app is being recognized by the learning community as a wonderful way to help kids get hooked on reading!” commented Tod Carter. “Our vision for creating this unique app was to present traditional rhymes in sort of a harmlessly irreverent way, while adding stunning animation and interactivity that would capture and delight the imagination of both young and older readers alike. As someone who has a rather different sense of humor, I think it’s the unforgettable wackiness of Goosed Up Rhymes that gives it an instant `replayability’ factor. It’s something that children are sharing with their friends. And at the same time, it isn’t too childish, which is why older readers are finding it fun and are eager to use it.”

“Earning this distinction is incredibly gratifying on both a personal and professional level,” commented Joe Spadaford. “As a reluctant reader myself, it was a dream of mine to help create a children’s book app that would appeal to kids who, quite simply, just don’t like picking up a book. Goosed Up Rhymes is so full of interactive elements that it’s easy to forget you’re reading, and just get caught up in the fun!”

Goosed Up Rhymes, the multi award-winning App for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, is suitable for kids aged 2-10, along with reluctant readers, slow readers or struggling readers of all ages. It’s available for immediate download in the App Store.
