L-com, Inc., a global leader in the manufacture of wired and wireless connectivity products, has released a flange-mount version of its popular right-angle RJ45 Cat 5e adapters. The flange-mount design allows secure mounting even on unusually thick panels, and the right-angle feature allows cables to connect through a panel or chassis while minimizing panel depth.
L-com originally released their keystone-mount right-angle RJ45 couplers over a year ago to meet the demand for a solution to Ethernet cables crimping in tight space applications. Keystone couplers fit in a recommended panel thickness of 0.040” to 0.062”. L-com’s ECF-style flanges, however, can be mounted in a panel up to 0.125” thick.
“The ECF-style flanges are popular because they allow design engineers to provide Ethernet jacks on thicker, sturdier surfaces,” said David Gallagher, Product Manager. “Providing an ECF-style version of our right-angle RJ45 couplers is the next step in supporting our customers’ needs.”
The new couplers come shielded or unshielded, offering options to suit different applications. The mounting frame is solid die-cast metal and 4-40 machine screws are included in the kit for easy assembly. The product is to be stocked in the USA for same-day shipment and 2D engineering drawings are available for free on the L-com web site.
