The power of this program is that people give and receive anonymously between friends, coworkers and strangers. Those who need the money can take it without any obligation, while maintaining personal dignity and most importantly without sharing their current circumstances.

HolidayItForward is a gracious and powerful giving program, implemented locally, during a truly compassionate time of year.

Based on the Pay It Forward concept, HolidayItForward.Org was founded by Pete Bosse, an unemployed Iraq war veteran, to help those in need by starting with only $1. According to Bosse, “this grass roots program is founded upon the American values of Honesty, Integrity, Community and Compassion.” The HolidayItForward program is a simple, anonymous giving program that works by passing along a HolidayItForward envelope to someone you may or may not know. On the outside of each envelope is an instructional letter and inside is donated money which starts with $1. The receiver of the envelope adds $1 and then passes the envelope along to anyone. Each person along the way adds a $1 minimum. When the package lands into the hands of someone in need, the recipient takes the money, leaves $1 in the envelope and passes it along again. The final wish is that whoever benefits from the HolidayItForward program will share their story at http://www.HolidayItForward.org. In these tough economic times, everyone is in need of a story with a happy ending.

The power of this program is that people give and receive anonymously between friends, coworkers or strangers. Those who need the money can take it without any obligation, while maintaining personal dignity and most importantly without sharing their current circumstances. “HolidayItForward is a gracious and powerful giving program, implemented locally, during a truly compassionate time of year” according to Bosse, founder of HolidayItForward.Org. “The idea is that one person and one dollar can make a difference”, Bosse noted “and in a very small way – collectively we can genuinely help those in need.”

HolidayItForward.Org will pass along 500 HolidayItForward envelopes, each containing $1, beginning in downtown Minneapolis at Noon on Wednesday December 14 at the corner of Nicollet Mall and 11th Street South. Local beneficiaries are asked to take a moment and share their stories at HolidayItForward.Org.
