Plataine’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model allows Lazar to realize double digit material savings with minimal upfront costs

Lazar Industries successfully implemented Plataine’s TPO WoodOptimizer in its Southern California and North Carolina facilities and sees double-digit material savings, reduced waste, and overall increased production flexibility.

"Plataine's TPO WoodOptimizerTM solution helped us squeeze more capacity out of our existing routers, while reducing Work in Process (WIP) inventory and shortening manufacturing cycles", says Rob Luce, President and CEO of Lazar Industries."WoodOptimizer has also allowed us to achieve double-digit material savings, as well as dramatically reducing our plywood scrap and scrap related costs".

WoodOptimizerTM enables upholstery manufacturers to quickly respond to market changes and remain viable in an increasingly competitive global environment that includes customer demands for made-to-order, just-in-time products at competitive prices. WoodOptimizer’s RollingNestTM automatically optimizes the placement of pieces from one or more orders on multiple sheets of plywood, resulting in material yields that are consistently higher than any other solution. By generating efficient tool paths, WoodOptimizer also improves the productivity of CNC routers.

"We are delighted to see the tangible benefits that Lazar has been able to leverage from WoodOptimizer, and thus join the ranks of our many partners in the industry”, said Avner Ben-Bassat, President & CEO of Plataine. “Doing so on a subscription basis further demonstrates the advantage of our Software as a Service (SaaS) offering, which allows manufacturers of all sizes to reduce operational costs with no capital expenditure. Thus, manufacturers get immediate return on their monthly expense, and pay for subsequent monthly usage with the savings already achieved.”
