Getting celebrities where they need to go and with as little disruption as possible is the part of the newly expanded security offering by Global Elite Inc. A specialized approach is a security specialty of the company known for its work at the last two Olympic Games, its protection services for news agencies around the world—going to and reporting in risky areas, as well as a security provider for the UN General Assembly. Global Elite has a detailed approach to provide high-profile sports and entertainment clients with a specialized program to protect them from crowds and avoid the delays associated with travel. “There is a very specific plan to follow for celebrities and sports figures that we deploy in getting them to and from events. We have been very successful with our approach for nearly a decade,” explained William McGuire, President and CEO of Global Elite Inc.
Global has dedicated a new division to meet the growing need of celebrities and sports figures as they travel and attend events. “We have relationships with many of the charter airlines and work with clients to get them to their destinations without the hassles that come with travelling,” McGuire explained. Global Elite provides in-house airport screening, as a licensed TSA provider through its aviation security division, the company will complete all the necessary screening information in confidence, the company’s agents are all BST (Basic Screener Training) certified. “This is a highly regulated industry and our agents comply with these stringent requirements,” explains Bryan Davis, Director of Sales and Marketing for Global Elite. Global agents perform the walk-through using their own metal detectors and hand-wand equipment at private areas of airports.
Global Elite reduces the likely-hood that high profile clients will get into scuffles with the press or get rushed by crowds. “Celebrities are at risk not only from being delayed by an onslaught of eager fans, but also from people stealing their belongings because of who they are,” explains McGuire. Global Elite has staff at 15 domestic airports and 6 international locations with security professionals that have years of aviation screening experience. The company also handles the security protocols for over 28 airlines in the U.S. and abroad including United, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways and Emirates. Global understands the process, has security professionals already stationed at major airports and works alongside airport personnel on their clients’ behalf. “We try to encourage clients about the importance of advance planning, but this is not always possible for them with their schedules, so this program is available on short notice.”
From red carpet events to just getting through the gate at the airport, celebrities have been very outspoken about being under siege or simply held hostage by the prospect of trying to manage crowds. Global Elite specializes in staffing for special events, in addition to crowd control for clients who truly are just looking to get from point A to B. “We have highly trained professional security agents. Global has provided the security and management of smaller scale events from movie premieres and concerts to even school and university venues,” explained Davis. What rings true for all crowd management issues, is once a celebrity is part of the mix the climate changes and a protection goals change to keep the public and the VIP safe. “Too often we hear of celebrities who get into a minor situation, but because of their status become a major news story. Our program eliminates that to keep them protected.”
