Stoughton, MA (PRWEB) December 20, 2011
In the midst of a challenging economy, high unemployment and Hurricane Irene, Maltby & Company and ESPN’S RISE UP took on the challenge of completely rebuilding Dorchester’s athletic facility from the ground up. Maltby donated crew to prune and remove trees for the high school’s outdoor track and athletic fields. The damaging rain and wind from Hurricane Irene added complications and delays but the project was completed on time.
“As a family business, it is important that we stay connected to our community and help it prosper for the benefit of everyone that lives and works here. ESPN’s Rise UP is an innovative program and very much appreciated by high schools and more importantly, their students,” said Bill Maltby, co-owner of Maltby & Company and Natural Tree & Lawn Care.
Maltby has been a major supporter of Arbor Day in Massachusetts since its inception over 30 years ago. Traditionally, the entire Company is put to work donating labor and equipment for community non-profit organizations including The Dimock Hospital in Roxbury, Franklin Park, Trustees of Reservations Properties and numerous public parks that would not normally be in a position to fund extensive tree work projects. Maltby is also a major supporter of the Stockbridge School of Arboriculture, an active member of the Massachusetts Tree Wardens Association and has traditionally participated in erecting the Nova Scotia Celebration Tree on Boston Common.
