Crowd Cast, Ltd. received the top award for a Smartphone business app contest in Japan that was sponsored by Yayoi Co., Ltd. and supported by LECRE Inc. Crowd Cast, Ltd., a Tokyo based software start-up company, released their new iPhone app called "bizNote” version 1.0 to drive integration with Yayoi accounting software and won the prize.

Yayoi (formerly known as Intuit Japan) is very famous as the #1 accounting software company for small and medium-sized businesses, with more than 50% of the market share in Japan. Their packaged software has approx. 900,000 registered customers in total (as of Aug 2011). Based on their user survey conducted in July 2011, 1 out of 4 people already started using Smartphone device and have been seeking some solutions to increase their productivities.

Next version for “bizNote”, version 1.1, is expected to be released within 30 days and will include CSV export for the Yayoi accounting software format. Also new features like data sync to cloud service and receipt attachment with Evernote is expected to be available in Q1 of 2012. Versions of Android / Windows Phone are planned to be released later.

“bizNote” is an app to help people control their expenses & budget for small or medium-sized businesses or divisions “without” accounting knowledge. It will make their day-to-day business more productive and help them get more insights in real-time.

Key differentiations are;

  • Offline and speedy input (with history lists, copy entry)
  • Focus on variable costs frequently occurred (travel, office supplies, entertainment, etc.)
  • No education needed because it's like a built-in app
