The intersection of love and money has been the subject of many works of art. It also remains a topic in the average American’s life and relationships. “Financial issues are the primary reason for 90 percent of divorce cases I handle,” says John Thyden, a prominent Washington, D.C., divorce attorney (quoted in an article by Good Housekeeping). Love and money is an issue that author Alderic Doucet tackles in his new novel “Sarah James Saga: Alderic Doucet” (published by iUniverse). In the book Doucet illuminates how these two forces react within the confines of a relationship.

“Love is not always found in five star hotels, lavish resorts or in million-dollar dresses or tuxedos, but in the heart of someone you least suspect,” says Doucet. The author hopes that the book will help readers learn the importance of love. “If you look from within your heart, you’ll see that not everything is material. I want to express to the reading audience that money or lack of money cannot dictate the response of the heart.

In his romantic drama “Sarah James Saga,” Doucet takes his amiable heroine and places her in difficult circumstances, leaving her to find love in a small rustic village. Set in the small fishing village of Doucet’s youth, the novel was written many years ago. It was only through the encouragement of a friend that led Doucet to publish the romance novel. He credits his family and friends for having greatly supported his publishing efforts.
