HR.com, the largest online social community dedicated to human resource professionals with over 194,000 members worldwide, is on a mission to create a corporate culture based on values that maintain happy and productive employees. As the company continues to incorporate a value based workplace, they would like to challenge other businesses to do the same. Get happy; get productive! HR.com is issuing a holiday challenge to professionals to get some office mojo on and show us an ugly Christmas sweater.
The wacky but hard working staff at HR.com has decorated every corner of the office in holiday décor (even the bathroom stalls) and they are having an “ugly Christmas sweater” contest and open house inviting all local businesses, friends and family to participate. They plan to test the hypothesis that other employee teams around the world could be as wacky as them, and more important, have uglier sweaters. Who is up for the challenge?
“Competitions and quirky based contests are all part of the fun of working for a values based business. We value fun and only hire quirky people which enables us all to show how unique we are in this world. We want the company to have a unique and memorable personality and we challenge all our members to help their organization also create a value based business.” says Debbie McGrath, Chief Instigator, HR.com
Many HR professionals may have to dig deep into their closets or break down and borrow one from their mother-in-law’s closet (cringe). Is it tacky, ugly, gaudy, or kitschy?
All HR.com members and their friends are being asked to share in the Christmas excitement and participate in the judging of the sweaters submitted. The winner of the competition will have a $250 donation made in their name to the charity of their choice.
HR.com (http://www.hr.com) is in business to help build great companies by connecting them to the knowledge and resources they need to effectively manage the people side of business. As the largest social network and online community of HR executives, HR.com provides thousands of worldwide members with easy access to shared knowledge on best practices, trends, and industry news in order to help them develop their most important asset – their people. Oh yeah, and they know how to have fun while they're doing a great job.
