The award winning Gateway Lodge Restaurant is partnering with Brookville Area Food Bank this holiday season to provide a Christmas evening to area families in need at Gateway’s signature restaurant. The event will include a family friendly meal prepared by Executive Chef John Georgvich and a celebration with Santa Claus.
"We greatly value our clientele and their support of Gateway Lodge,” says Jody Fesco, Gateway’s Events Coordinator, “It is because of them that we have the means to give back to our community. We feel blessed to be a blessing to others this Christmas Season. We are here to serve."
The event is an effort to bring awareness to the work of Brookville Area Food Bank, which distributes food to around 198 families a week. Food Bank’s organizer Ed Pearce has been working with the organization for more than 30 years. He has noted an escalation in senior citizen clientele and families overall in the last 24 months. “We have already served 700 families for the holiday season,” he says “I am excited to see that families have the opportunity to enjoy an evening in an atmosphere like Gateway Lodge.”
20 people will attend the evening’s festivities, including 10 to 12 children. The event is slated to take place on December 22. Those interested in making a financial contribution or donating personal care items to be given to the families can call 814-744-8017 for more information.
