The eye care industry has fewer than 20 EMR systems in place nationally. Clarkson Eyecare is consistently on the forefront of medical technology in St. Louis.

Clarkson Eyecare has received year 1 Meaningful Use EHR Incentives utilizing their home grown software suite Grow|CMS. Grow|CMS was certified by The Drummond Group, Inc. on March 31st, 2011 and Clarkson Eyecare began the 90 day attestation period in July. The eye care industry has fewer than 20 EMR systems in place nationally.

Clarkson Eyecare’s development of this innovative technology is just another example of how the company continues to stand on the forefront of patient care in the St. Louis area.
Kris Caldwell, VP of Support Operations, had this to say about her team’s accomplishment: “We made a conscious decision to build our own EHR because we knew we could do it best for our practice. We have designed it to flow smoothly with our point of sale software, to make the transition to electronic records easier for our doctors and enhance workflow processes within our offices. Receiving EHR incentives reinforced to me that we made the right decision and are exceeding the guidelines set forth by the federal government.”

Kris goes on to say, “Our development staff sets us apart from most companies. Dr. Todd Bellamy was the visionary on how the system should look and flow for the doctors. Frank Szofran, Senior Programmer and Dan Lowenthal, Junior Programmer spent countless hours designing it to Dr. Bellamy’s requests as well as to the requirements set forth in Stage 1 Meaningful use. Shannon Olsson, EHR Project Manager, was the face of the software. Shannon read every EHR related article, law, statute and blog available to make sure we were on the right path, painstakingly tested each version and then trained over 400 employees and doctors to use it successfully within our practice.”
“We look forward to the future and are confident in meeting and exceeding all stages of Meaningful Use requirements.”
