"We're proud to launch MYX TV in San Diego and provide our customers with even more Asian American programming."
Redwood City, Calif. (PRWEB) December 15, 2011
San Diego is known for its great weather, miles of sandy beaches and rich cultural diversity. This home of the one of the largest Asian film festivals in the nation is known to be the gathering point for many Asian American trendsetters in the music, film, and entertainment industries. This week, it makes its mark on cable television as MYX TV, the country’s only Asian American music entertainment network, will be free to customers who subscribe to Cox Advanced TV. Catch the network on channel 405.
MYX TV is also available to Cox customers in Orange County, Palos Verdes, and San Pedro.
"San Diego is a very diverse community and our customers reflect that diversity," said Colleen Langner, Vice President of Marketing for Cox's California operations. "We're proud to launch MYX TV in San Diego and provide our customers with even more Asian American programming."
MYX TV continues to blaze trails in its unique programming, offering original and syndicated shows, including magazine talk shows, interactive music video countdowns, independent film and Asian cinema, and animation. This year, it launched a number of shows including MYX TV Top 10, a weekly music countdown show featuring top videos voted in by viewers and hosted by YouTube celebrities and Asian American artists. Soompi Top 10 features the top K-Pop videos as voted by the audience. MYX-Rated, in its second season, features comedian Joey Guila and model Keiko Alingas as they cover all things pop culture from up-and-coming artists to fashion and technology. The network’s promise to bring more Asian Americans to television came to life with Press Play, the debuting platform for videos by artists who have built their subscriber bases online. One barrier breaker is online celebrity Traphik who now hosts his very own, the Timothy DeLaGhetto Show on the network. Movie So Good, a throw back Asian movie showcase featuring martial arts and action, dubbed in English, also premiered this year.
"MYX TV has been on the ground for many years now, supporting our strong and vibrant Asian American community, says Miguel Santos, Associate General Manager for MYX TV. “We are elated to launch on COX in San Diego which enhances our dedication to providing a TV platform for the Asian American youth."
